York Family History Society Fair 2011

York Family History Society Fair 2011Next weekend sees the annual York Family History Society Fair being held in The Folk Hall, New Earswick.

Unfortunately, I’m going to miss it as I’ve gone and booked myself of a first aid course without checking my diary first.

This fair shouldn’t be confused with the Yorkshire Family History Fair which is held at York Racecourse each year in June, which tends to cover the whole of Yorkshire; the York Family History Society Fair concentrates on York and the immediate surrounding area.

If you have ancestors who lived in or around York then this fair is the ideal opportunity to have a chat to society members who will give you free help and advice. Entrance is only £1.00, the hall is wheelchair friendly, parking is free and refreshments are available throughout the day.

For more information and contact details have a look at York Family History Society’s web site [here].
